The objective of this event is to provide an annual meeting place for manufacturing in Nigeria, with the intention to showcase the various opportunities for trade & investment in the Manufacturing industry, and a view to promoting greater integration amongst players in the sector.
Speaking at the event, Dr Frank Undemba Jacobs, President, Manufacturer’s Association of Nigeria disclosed that there will be display of latest manufacturing equipment, machine tools, technologies, spare parts and raw materials during the event.
He further revealed that as with the previous editions, ‘this year’s edition with the theme: “Enhancing Nigeria’s Manufacturing Competitiveness in the Global Space” will be bigger and better as it would afford several companies and countries which have registered as exhibitors and visitors, a rare opportunity of exposure to the entire manufacturing value chain, which will include machinery, equipment, financial support, professional consultancy and raw materials.
Also speaking at the event, Dr Mrs Zainab Hammanga, Director, Investment and Consultancy Services, Raw Materials, Research and Development Council, expressed her excitement about the event and also added that the inclusion of NIRAM to NME EXPO 2018 makes the event even better, especially with the increasing interests by the State Governments to participate through showcasing the available raw materials within their respective States, as well as the enthusiasm by the Organized Private Sector producing secondary raw materials. She re-iterated that the initiative is in line with the Federal Government’s diversification agenda, which encourages the country to look inwards to areas the country has enormous comparative & competitive advantages, which are embedded in agricultural and mineral resources to help restructure our economy to a more prosperous resource-based manufacturing.
Joseph Oru, Event Manager, Nigeria Manufacturing & Equipment Expo, believes that with a more solid integration between equipment manufacturing, raw material producers and manufacturers, the nation will be able to fast track her quest in developing the manufacturing industry.
